Architectural Illustrations

A selection of architectural plans and drawings that were recreated in a more graphic and eye-catching style.

Representations of a style that was cultivated throughout the years, inspired by soviet constructivist lino prints and the pop art movement. The sketches use dominant shapes and bold colours which yield dynamic and unique outcomes. I have returned to this practice at every firm I have worked at as they are viable alternatives to CGIs and renderings.

These artistic reinterpretations of plans, elevations, and more abstract information have been recreated in different styles and colours to reflect company or bid-specific branding. This allows for dynamic and diverse illustrations while also creating brand continuity. The most extensive in the series, the Plymvale project, is an interpretation of a master plan of a former airport site that was to be converted into an urban district. The illustration featured a high level of detail and covered a large area surrounding the site; this project has been the most detailed and enjoyable piece I have created to date and proves that the time and effort that goes into more artistic approaches yields high-quality results.
